Summer Research, Summer Volunteering

This past Saturday, July 20, the BDSI, BioConnect, and RARE summer research programs traveled to America’s Grow-A-Row (AGAR) in Pittstown, NJ. AGAR is a non-profit farm that donates all of its produce to help fight hunger. They also have educational programs to teach students about health and nutrition. Together with other community volunteers, our group harvested 4,800 pounds or 19.200 servings of corn. In just 1.5 hours, we harvested corn for over 19,000 people.
